Installing Ys
1. 1. This is pretty straight forward when you pop the cd in open the setup.exe and just click all of the bold looking buttons or the ones that look like they are highlighted as if they would be a next or ok button. Leave the directory paths all as they are DO NOT CHANGE THEM or you will not have a successful patch and English patch install. The directory will be assuming your hardrive is C: . C:\FALCOM\YS_WIN.
2. 2. Now that you have the game installed you want to patch it using Ys 1203. Just open this folder and double click ysf_1203. Leave the directory that is shown the same do not edit this and then click the left button I believe (it should look like its highlighted) and it will install the necessary files.
3. 3. Ok you have finished updating YS! Now you want to apply the English patch so your going to open Ys – The oath in Felghana English patch file and the double click the .exe file. This will be in English make sure your connected to the internet and leave the check for updates during install box checked, this will ensure you have the most up to date files! Now click next, again do not change the directory at all, proceed with install. When your done you should have 2 icons on your desktop on will say YsF the other should say config or YsF Setup (I cant remember which one it says but I think its YsF Setup) You will want to click this one though. This will allow you to setup the game as far as key commands, video/graphics options (if you have low end laptop put graphics options to low as possible for this is a heavy graphics game and in order to be enjoyable needs to run as fast as possible with no lag in game), etc. Once your done exit out of the setup and then start the game YsF!
4. 4. That’s it you should be done installing and patching and the game and all should be in English! I hope I helped you out and I hope you get to enjoy this wonderful game. Like I said its just a 3d remake of Ys III wanderers from Ys so if you ever want to play the old one just try to find it for TG or SNES or even the Sega System. If you enjoy this game and want to play other Ys games for PC just lemme know and Ill try to hook you up with Ys I & II Eternal Story for PC with English patches. You can also get Ys The Ark of Napishtim for pc with English patches and I believe Ys Origin for PC with English patches (although im not sure of the English patch yet for that one).
5. One more thing before you get started playing is if you have an Xbox 360 controller and you have a usb port you can use that as a controller for Ys. Just plug it in before you open the game and it will register as a controller. I went into the setup and changed the buttons to my liking but they may suit you just fine. I find it easier than playing with the keyboard and mouse. If you don’t have 360 I would recommend a 360 controller over any gamepad you can buy in a store. If you want to go all out and use wireless then buy the Microsoft Wireless gaming receiver and a wireless controller and go to http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=Gaming to download the software! If you use the corded controller and your pc doesn’t detect it then you can also get that software from the website too! Goodluck and Happy gaming!
